Imagine being fired from a government job simply because you have strong Christian convictions and will not participate in clearly immoral or unethical behavior. Tragically, this has become a reality for some individuals.
But the Alliance Defense Fund is committed to reversing this downward slide, by providing necessary funding to put Christians - people of faith - on equal footing with well-financed groups that oppose religious freedom, the sanctity of human life, and traditional family values.
For too many years, people suffering religious discrimination could not afford attorneys and the sometimes hundreds of thousands of dollars that it can cost to pursue justice.
Of course, in an ideal world, money would make no difference between winning and losing a legal battle.
But such is not the case in America's legal system. Those with financial resources often have a much better chance of winning their cases than those who lack the necessary funding.
This may explain why, prior to ADF’s founding in 1994, so many precious freedoms were lost and doors began to close on the spread of the Gospel in America. In many instances, funding was the biggest barrier to justice.
That is why
ADF's founders made it a priority for ADF to ultimately raise an annual funding pool of $25 million or more to ensure that every legal case involving potentially precedent-setting cases of concern has sufficient funds to defend it properly, and to enable the Body of Christ to go on the offensive as is appropriate and necessary.
We have not reached this goal yet, but thanks to the generosity of our ministry friends and supporters throughout the country, we are making a difference by God’s grace! Since 1994, ADF has provided millions of dollars in funding for hundreds of cases and legal projects to help win back the justice system and restore religious liberty.
